OH 107 is an original state route, established in 1924.[2] When first designated, OH 107 consisted of existing OH 49 between the Michigan state line north of Edon and the current junction of OH 49 and OH 107 8 miles west of Montpelier, the current routing of OH 107, and US 20A from 3 miles (4.8 km) east of Montpelier to Burlington.
In 1926, the stretch from the Michigan state line to 8 miles (13 km) west of Montpelier was re-numbered as OH 49. That same year, OH 107 was extended on the east end to 2 miles (3.2 km) north of Wauseon. By 1932, the stretch from Montpelier to 2 miles (3.2 km) north of Wauseon was re-designated as US 20S, which would become US 20A 3 years later. OH 107 was extended in 1963 along the previous US 20A that went from Montpelier to 3 miles (4.8 km) east of Montpelier.[3]
